Staff Council

Serving the staff at North Georgia

Staff Development funds are available for full-time staff members to participate in professional development activities that enhance their primary job duties. Professional development encompasses learning opportunities such as work-related seminars, conferences, workshops, and Continuing Education classes on and off campus.

Staff members may apply for funding to pay the cost of registration fees, gas, meals, and lodging (at current State rate) up to $500 per request, per fiscal year. It is advised to submit your request as early as possible to ensure funding.

To request funds, the following steps must be followed:

  • Fill out a Staff Development Funding/Reimbursement Request.
  • Attach supporting documentation, including: a detailed description of workshop / conference / courses, dates, costs etc.
  • Be sure to get your supervisor’s signature.
  • Submit form to Staff Development Committee Chair. Send or hand deliver forms to Daniela Martinez, School of Arts & Letters.

Applications that are incomplete or lacking supporting data may not be approved for funding.

Staff Development funds are awarded to the individual and are non-transferable.
